The Horizon Collection Preview

My eyes don’t shift focal planes as readily as they used to. From the castings and stones on my bench to the far side of Discovery and Dungeness bays is a long way. But this does not stop me from looking up from my bench, out across the water to the horizon, and then back down at what I am working to piece together. It’s almost subconscious. I think when I am a little stuck, I look up from what I am working on – and take in the colors and textures of the garden up close – and the sea and sky in the distance, then reel back in close to what’s at hand.

My latest series of pieces has evolved into a combination of mostly dendritic agates, aquamarine, and gray sapphires with the cast botanicals. It’s taken me a while, but I am pretty pleased with how these have come together. I hope you like some of what you see.
