This is a beautiful bar necklace with a twist: a sterling silver or 14K gold sprig cast from a Douglas fir tree. It’s a versatile piece—lightweight, comfortable, and flattering. This necklace is a great one for layering.

Douglas fir trees are everywhere in the Pacific Northwest.  On the coast, they commonly live at least 500 years. They are often planted in reforestation efforts throughout the region—and for good reason, they’re hardy and lovely evergreens. I found this sprig without needles and loved its knobby texture.
