This necklace joins treasures from two of my favorite places—the forest and the sea. Though the textures of the cedar and the stone couldn’t be more different, they both make me think of natural resilience. Cedars are hardy trees with strong anchoring roots that can live well over a thousand years. Beach stones get their touchable smoothness gradually as the ocean washes over them. Withstanding wind and water, they make an unlikely but fitting pair!
This necklace features three stacked beach stones atop a cast sterling silver cedar bough. The bail is hinged to allow the necklace extra movement. I love how the intricate texture of the cedar branch contrasts the smoothness of the beach stones. When I wear this necklace, I’m always happy for the reminder of natural strength.
This necklace pairs perfectly with the cedar branch and beach stone earrings.
**Note: The beach stones may vary slightly in color from the ones you see here. They may come in various shades of green, black, and gray.
