To create this striking necklace, I cast the edge of a leaf from a mother of thousands plant. At the bottom of the charm you can see some of the delicate plantlets that grow from its leaves.
Bryophyllum daigremontianum has many colorful names—devil’s backbone, mother of thousands, Mexican hat plant, and alligator plant—but I’m not sure any of them quite captures how strange and cool this succulent looks. The tiny plantlets make this plant a particularly fun—and challenging!—one to cast.
